Horizontal Sheath, Custom Sheath, Custom Leatherwork, Lucas Forge

I thought I’d post this picture of the horizontal sheath design that is available with custom knives –  the Packer model, to name one. This style of sheath is useful for everyday wear and especially for those who ride horses, bikes, or motorcycles. It has a snap-closure and is handcrafted in the shop. Thank you for looking!

Fall is really in the air here! We’re looking forward to the Fiddler’s Convention, October 4th & 5th, in Athens, Alabama and hope to see you there!

In the meantime I thought I’d post a picture of one of the custom knives that have shipped lately. This one is a custom Jack Pine Special with a stunning and rugged sheephorn handle. Sheephorn makes any knife stand out and it especially complements this model.

We are so, so sorry for any inconvenience that our recent website failure has caused you! Our server had a hard-drive failure that wiped us out except, very, very thankfully(!), for the backups that we had on hand… So you may note that our site will take a little work to bring it back up to date – this is the February 2013 version! A Lot Going On

Thank you so much for all your great support this past weekend in centeral Alabama! It has been a very time here at the shop and we look forward to an even more busy days during the coming spring. Here’s a brief sample of what’s been made lately. . .

Pictured above is a group of Frontier Kepharts. Handles are, from top to bottom , curly maple, osage orange, and walnut. The two on top are available now! Just click on the picture to take you to the Available Now page.

A very diverse array of Frontier knives made with many handle materials. Pictured are, from top to bottom, bacote, walnut, redheart, teak, lignum vitae, and another walnut. Three of these (bacote, redheart, and the bottom walnut) are still available. Check them out by visiting the Available Now page!

A Cool Custom Job

Continuing the series of posts showcasing custom knives, this one is quite unique. . .

Survival Knife, Custom Knife, Hunting KnifeThe blade’s profile came from a custom design requested by the customer. The blade is made using O-1 tool steel and the knife is about 7 inches overall. The handle is made up of two layers of G-10 – one blaze orange and one olive green. Note the almost “molded” fit of the handle.
