How do the two models compare? Great question!
The Lucas Forge Kephart is a little wider and longer. It has a 1 1/4″ blade width as opposed to the Vintage Kephart’s 1″ blade width. The overall length of the Lucas Forge Kephart is 9 1/2 inches. The overall length of the Vintage Kephart is 9 inches.
Both designs have a 4 1/2 inch blade. This means that the total handle length (not just the grip) on the Lucas Forge Kephart is 5″ long; on the Vintage Kephart the total handle length is 4 1/2 inches.
The Lucas Forge Kephart comes standard with 3 brass pins and a lanyard hole. The Vintage Kephart comes standard with 3 brass pins, no lanyard hole for a more traditional look.
The Lucas Forge comes standard with a flat grind. The Vintage comes standard with a convex grind.
So, in summary, the Lucas Forge version has a bit of a beefier look and feel, whereas the Vintage is a bit more slim, yet traditional. Both are excellent choices for a hunting/bushcrafting knife. Thanks for your interest!
